Laptop Review In 2012

We purchased this water table for our 15-month old son who loves it just as much as his 3- and 5-year old cousins, and 9- and 10-year old brothers (who'll never admit it!).

It's durable, the colors are soft and unobnoxious, and it seems well-built. The water wheel is everyone's favorite, and the scooping cup and boats are fun, too. Now that our baby is 18-months old, he's taken to climbing in and having a soak. The water is shallow enough to be safe (with supervision of course), but deep enough to make a big splash.

Oh, and did I mention it can hold a baby's attention for as long as an hour? That's reason enough to buy two! I have 3 kids, ages 5, 4 and 1. They all love this toy, but the older kids can't walk away from it! It even holds the interest of the 1 year old who has the attention span of a gnat! It is a great size, not too big, yet big enough for all 3 kids, and even more, to stand around. Great height too. Step 2 has fixed the leaking drain problem by removing the drain holes completely, no more leaks, but still easy to dump out at the end of the day. Simple design leads to imaginative play. I only reccommend using a large rubber mat under it if you put it on a deck as the water that gets splashed out makes the deck slippery for a toddler. Awesome toy, great job Step 2! I bought this water table for my 21 month old and she absolutely loves it. I was really interested in getting a play table for water, but I didn't like the idea of having both sand and water in the same table. It seemed awfully messy and we already have a sand box. And then I found this one. I put this table together in less than 5 minutes and my daughter has played with it everyday since we got it. She gets completely soaked everytime, so I change her into a swimsuit before she plays. I have not had any problems with the drains leaking as some reviewers have noted. Her older brothers have even played with it and boats that come with the table. Consider this one for your water-loving toddler. Our son has sensory issues and we wanted a water table for that reason. I got this one on sale and couldn't be more pleased. More importantly, our son loves it!

When first taking it out of the package and popping the legs on (no tools required! assembly literally takes a minute or two.) I was a little concerned about the legs ability to wobble so much, but after putting it together I soon realized it is very sturdy. Sturdy enough that I can lean on it.

The toys that come with it are "meh" at best. The little boats tend to sink and the water wheel, while interesting, doesn't attach and therefore gets knocked over. The shark scoop is cute, but for some strange reason, it isn't solid bottomed and gives a shower effect when filled up.

However, the table is great. Just the right size for my two year old and big enough for 2 children to play at once. I rated it 5 stars for educational value because water tables are great for sensory stimulation.

Anyone who has a toddler knows that it is difficult to maintain their interest in any one play activity for more than a few minutes. You rarely get past the first few pages of a book, the fun of a bubble blower starts dissipating when the first bubble pops on the carpet, and it's even tough to get them to finish their plate without resorting to the "flying teaspoon" or something like that.

But this toy changes that. My 16-month old loves playing with it. The first day, she spent about 1 hour with it, and we had to pry her away.

It's easy to assemble, and it's sturdiness was proved when my precious baby learned how to climb up and sit in it. It did not buckle. Because of the climbing potential, I wouldn't recommend it for your 18-month to 2 year old (or precocious 15-month old).

There are no small parts that would pose a choking hazard. My daughter wasn't very interested in the water-wheel, but to each his/her own, right?I just bought this water table for my 23 month old and she loves it! We already have a great sandbox outside, so we decided to look for a water-only table. We bring it inside to play with it on rainy days and take it out on our deck on good weather days. We've added lots of sea animals and bathtub squirters to play with, and measuring cups to pour water with. We also add a bit of soap to the water and give her little people and other plastic toys a bath. I also found that the plugs leak, but a bit of Glad Press and Seal seems to do the trick! Also, Step 2 is sending a set of replacement plugs that are supposed to fit tighter. Even with the drips, this toy is well worth every penny!!! My daughter received this for a first birthday gift recently and hasn't stopped playing with it since! She and her little friends(ranging in age from 10 months to 2 years) all love this water table. I had dozens of toys, ride ons, a play tent, etc out for the kids to play with during playgroup this week and they completely ignored everything else and played with this table for two hours straight! Plus, it was literally a snap to put together. If you have a young toddler, buy this. You won't be disappointed! Perfect toy for a Splashy Day! My son and neighborhood children LOVE this toy! They were all asking when we were going to bring it out of storage for summer time play. Well it's back for a second year and they still love it.

One problem I have had with it is that the stoppers do mildew but a little bit of bleach after the children have gone inside will cure this and any slimy feeling it gets. They are absolutely fascinated with it.

This is a great gift and a great toy for your deck if you don't feel like filling the pool everyday. You can conserve water that way and they get just as wet!

This is its second summer and it is still in excellent shape! Even the toys have held up well to daily summer use!

We bought this for our 2 year old daughter, who was always wanting to play in the water of our kitchen sink. I like this toy because it's not too bulky and it doesn't combine sand and water, which I couldn't see my daughter playing with yet without making a huge mess. We plan on letting her use it both outside and inside, since we can just drain the water out each time she uses it. That makes the toy very easy to clean since I really wouldn't want her playing in old water anyway. It's a great way to keep her busy playing and having fun. This is the best water toy I have seen yet. My 2 year old loves playing in water and now she can play year round if she wants to! I like this a lot more than the sand/water play sets. I also like that it's small enough to store but large enough to have my daughters friends play with to! It's super easy to clean off and even if it gets stuck in the rain or mud all I have to do is spray it off!!! :) Makes a great birthday gift to cause it's such a cheap price. This water table is great! I just bought it for our 1 year old for her birthday. The moment I got it home I set it up..it took all of 2 minutes to snap the legs on and snap the water wheel together and fill it up...then my 7, 3 and 1 year old were all over it!! the poly pockets and little people had a gay old time swimming and splashing around in the water! Its perfect size makes playing in it very clean, the kids can stand around it and you can get at least 4-5 kids around it at a time. It is very sturdy and mine doesnt leak at all..even if it did who cares, the water doesnt all stay in the tub anyway once the kids start to splash around in it! It is very cute and well designed and if you wanted to use it indoors with rice or beans it is small enough to do that, the fact that it doesnt have a lid is irrelevant to me because you would want to fill it with FRESH water each time you used it anyway, at least I know I would since my kids try to drink the water, put their faces and hair in it, etc...besides, standing water breeds mosquitoes..blech!
Our 2 and a half year old daughter is a water baby. She loves all properties of water in every form and has been since she took her first bath. She loves sand too so we looked at a few of the combination tables - but I decided that they would get too messy and be too hard to empty and keep the sand clean on the roof-top deck we had at the time as the only outdoor play area at our house.

We got this table for her for her second birthday. When it arrived, my husband thought it didn't look as fun as he had pictured it being...but we can't keep her away from it. Give her a few cups and other water-proof toys and she will fill them up and pour then out and splash around for hours.

My only complaint is that the boats it came with do not float very well. And it may be hard to determine the "educational value" unless you search for it...but just learning the way water works, what happens when you pour it into something that has a hole in it, what does the water wheel do when water flows over it, what happens when you try to pick water up in your hand...At this age - EVERYTHING is a learning experience.

The two spouts on the bottom make for easy emptying of the two areas. None of the pieces have broken even after being thrown and dragged around.

When I saw this game at PAX East, my instant assumption was that it was a stupid, silly little kid's game, the kind moms everywhere buy at the supermarket. However, after watching friend after friend play, and then buy, this game, I thought I'd give it a chance. The game is a very basic, simple, and appealing idea: each card matches each other card exactly once: find the match. The game then proceeds to take this simple idea and make three full, separate games out of it, with many variations that you could come up with yourself, if you wanted. Unlike the somewhat similar Jungle Speed, which has many similar mechanics, this game is far easier to just "whip out". Shuffling this deck is much easier, and you don't have to manage the totem. The tin the game comes in is nice and durable, and doesn't waste space; the game fits, with a little room for an expansion or another set, which makes it a great game to carry in your backpack for those downtime moments in life where nothing's going on.

The game is, unfortunately, not particularly deep, but as a warm-up or a boredom buster, it's probably one of the better ways to spend ten bucks or so. The following review was written by Parker, one of my fourth grade students. We play Spot It! in my class from time to time and it is a BIG hit with the students.

Spot it is a great game to play. There are many different ways to play it, and the game includes directions for 4 different ways. My favorite way to play is called Hot Potato. Hot Potato is pretty easy to play. First you get as many people as you want to play, then separate all the people that are playing into 4 even(ish) groups.
Then you give every one who is playing a card that they place face down in their hand. When the game starts, everyone flips over their card and whoever finds a match from their card on one of the other calls it out and gives the person their card. Play continues until one person ends up with all of the cards and then they are 'out' until the game is over.

Every card of Spot it at least has one picture that has a match on EVERY other card. I pulled one card out of the container and it had a tree, sunglasses, sunflower, dog, raindrop, and a carrot. I picked up a different card and it had the dog on it. There can be as many people as you want to play.

That's why Spot it can be a very fun game. I also me personally think it's a five star game.

Pros: Doesn't cost much, fun to play, always challenging, very quick, an easy game to play.

Cons: Sometimes it is hard to find the match, sometimes the game moves VERY quickly

I bought my daugther the Winkel at the same time I got her the Skwish. The Winkel we give her in her crib to play with for some "quiet" play, as the rattle is not very loud, it is soft, so there is little risk of her "banging" or hurting herself with it. The loops make it easy for her to grasp and definitely encouraged her to grab it with one hand and pass it to the other. She loves to wave it, and especially loves chewing on the loops. Its easy to clean as you can just rinse it off with some warm water and dry with a towel. For a baby just learning to grip things this is pretty nice. There's no such thing as "where's the handle?" Everything is the handle! This is one of the first things my grandson was able to grab and hold onto. My grandson is big for his age, but I think even a more delicate baby would have no problem playing with this toy. He's had his for at least a month now and he's 4 1/2 months. He even uses it as a teether, but then he'll chew on me if I let him! It's easy to wash, just swish in soapy water, rinse and air dry. I use his plastic rings to attach this to his baby seat and stroller etc. And it's big enough that it doesn't get lost, but not so big as to be a pain to put away. A sturdy no worry toy! my son is 5 months old and he started developing teeth earlier. no matter how great other water based teeters were he wasn't able to hold them and we tried everything we could get our hands in Singapore (have about 10 in total now) he cannot grip any of them and some have a chocking hazard so we need to supervise their usage

reading reviews on-line we decided to get this via my mom living in New York. its perfect for his size and colourful enough to get his attention. I believe that there is a very big development with this toy as this is the first time he grips it and bangs it on everything else (Caveman - Hammer style !) and he enjoying nibbling on its many tubes and he gets his hand stuck and chews on the tubes (instead of his hand which we earlier had a hard time discouraging)

we sterilise this toy a lot as it gets a lot of usage, absolutely no complains here. My sister got this ball for my 2 month old for christmas. This has been a wonderful toy for him, at two months he was able to grab the small hoops and chewed on it like crazy. He is 5 mths now and this toy is still his favorite. We do not leave the house without it, he holds it in his carseat and fall's asleep with it. It also goes to daycare with him. Very easy to grab a hold of, and the bright colors catch his eye. Like some other comments say, the rattle in the middle is not too loud which is nice but still gets their attention. Also, I have washed this many times and the color's do not bleed, for me atleast. This is a wonderful toy and I am sure my little guy is going to be playing with it for a long time. I am also ordering another one for my nephew that will be here in June :).
